How to compare all 7 Pass the Fear hunters

A hunter is more than a starting stat line. Each one turns a different resource or action—luck, coins, gunfire, dismantling, dodging, a companion, or Tarot—into momentum during a run.

Use the profiles to inspect exact skills and level snapshots, then compare hunters by the conditions you are willing to manage. This produces a more useful choice than assigning a universal tier without a shared build or combat scenario.

Choose a run engine before chasing numbers

Begin with the loop you want to play repeatedly. A strong effect that depends on an action you rarely take is less useful to your plan than a smaller effect that naturally fits your movement, economy, and weapon rhythm.

  • Check whether the hunter gains power from shooting, dodging, spending, dismantling, Tarot choices, or a companion.
  • Note whether the key payoff is automatic, tied to a timed skill, or requires building a resource first.

Compare the real level and upgrade rules

Every hunter has two automatic basic skills. Levels 2–6 unlock five rows with three alternatives per row, and only one option from each unlocked row is legal. The level selector also shows the matching Health, Bullet Attack, and cumulative upgrade cost.

  • Compare hunters at the level you can actually use, not only at level 6.
  • Read choices across several rows as a route; later skills often reward the trigger established by earlier ones.

Use profiles for intent and the planner for outcomes

A character profile is the best place to understand the hunter's identity, starting weapon, skill wording, and 22 displayed stats. The Build Planner adds equipment and separates deterministic totals from effects that still need a combat trigger.

  • Open two profiles first and identify the different conditions each route asks you to maintain.
  • Recreate both with the same equipment assumptions before drawing a damage conclusion.
